Moving on to State

Congratulations to our very own ESTC high school players that participated in the OSAA District Tournament this past weekend. ESTC was proudly represented in 3 high school divisions.

At 6A, Sheldon took control of Districts in doubles with Paige Bennett and Kelsie VanHeise receiving second place and making their way to the State Championships in Portland next weekend. The team of Hannah Rosenberg and Hannah Powers made their way through the draw and came up just short losing a close one in the quarterfinals. On the boys team, Chad Henninger dominated 6A districts barely losing a game and taking 1st place convincingly.

Also at 6A, Emma Daugherty took 2nd place for South high school after some impressive victories throughout the weekend. Also for South, David Foley and his doubles partner will be heading up north to state.

In Districts 5A, Chris Weichert of Churchill played an amazing match at the end of the final day to bring home the 1st place trophy and helped Churchill to a team victory as well. As for the girls side of Churchill, Brittany Banna held on to place 3rd in her respective draw on Sunday playing a nice match to end the tournament. Both players will be heading to the State Championships also in Portland.

In Districts 4A, Marist high school took the 1st place team trophy with a strong team performance by a few ESTC players. The team of Ryan Romania and Zach Steele took home the gold after storming through their draw. Also, making it to the State Tournament will be Hayden Rear and Pom Incharoensakai, who played a solid District tournament in singles. On the Marist girls team, Zoey Martin had a solid draw to move on to the State Tournament which will be held here at ESTC starting this Thursday at 5:00pm.

Come out and support our ESTC junior members who will be representing their respective schools this weekend at ESTC.
